AMCHAM’s Western Region Executive Committee held a meeting virtually on February 10^th to review ongoing initiatives and deliberate on key regional priorities under the leadership of Mr. Avinash Gupta, Chairman – Western Region, AMCHAM and Managing Director & CEO, Dun & Bradstreet, and Ms. Kaku Nakhate, Co-Chairperson – Western Region, AMCHAM and Chair, India, Bank of America. The meeting was attended by Mr. Siddhartha Ghosal, National Executive Board Member, AMCHAM and CEO & Country President, Dow Chemical, Ms. Shefali Goradia, National Executive Board Member, AMCHAM and Chairperson, Deloitte India, Mr. Hitesh Sharma, Partner, Ernst & Young, Ms. Simi Thapar, Country CEO, CSI Leasing and Ms. Rakhi Sikka, Regional Director, AMCHAM India. Members briefly discussed ongoing and proposed initiatives for the Western Region. A key focus of the discussion was the expansion and strengthening of the Pune Chapter. Members noted that Pune has increasingly emerged as a hub for global capability centers, presenting significant opportunities to onboard new members, expand engagement, and make the chapter more proactive and impactful. Members also discussed the growing importance of Gujarat in the current business and investment landscape. With increased activity from the Gujarat government and a rising presence of companies in the state, it was agreed that AMCHAM should now place a stronger strategic focus on Gujarat as part of its Western Region initiatives. The meeting concluded with a shared understanding on the need to broaden regional outreach and deepen member engagement across Pune and Gujarat.
