AMCHAM’s Western Region Executive Committee convened virtually on December 6th under the leadership of Mr. Chandrakant Nayak, Chairman – Western Region, AMCHAM and CEO and Country President, Dow India. The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss and explore initiatives aimed at enhancing member engagement and involvement within the chamber. Several key initiatives were discussed during the meeting: 1. Quarterly Knowledge-Driven Events: The proposal to organize one event per quarter with a focus on knowledge-sharing and dialogue with regulators was a prominent discussion point. 2. Thought Leadership Papers: A suggestion was made to create and circulate thought leadership papers among members, providing a platform for diverse perspectives on relevant topics. 3. Forums with Government Representatives: Members recommended organizing forums featuring discussions with government departments and ministers. Considering the ongoing discussions on the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, a session on this topic, potentially with external expertise, was proposed. Two additional dedicated sessions were suggested, one on D&I and another on mutual funds, aiming to cater to specific interests within the industry. The meeting concluded with a consensus on the proposed initiatives. Further communication regarding detailed plans and action items will be shared with members in the coming days.
