The ICT Committee of AMCHAM organized a virtual workshop on ‘High Performance Computing (HPC): Driving India’s Digital Transformation’ on February 24th . Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM, welcomed participants and cited that the integration of a physical and digitally networked economy will underpin ‘Ease of Doing Business 2.0’ by significantly enhancing productivity and investments in India. Mr. Ankur Malhotra, Co-Chairman – CSR Committee, AMCHAM and Head Corporate Affairs and CSR, Hewlett Packard Enterprise India, in his opening remarks mentioned that to achieve a knowledge-driven multi-trillion-dollar economy, technology adoption such as HPC is critically important and mandatory. Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, Director General of Meteorology, India Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, delivered the keynote speech and through a technical presentation, he stated how HPC is enhancing accuracy and credibility in weather forecasting. Other important dignitaries from DRDO, IIT Bombay, National Geophysical Research Institute, National Institute of Biomedical Genomics, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise also participated in the event and shared their perspectives on HPC.
