AMCHAM members participated in the U.S.-India ICT Dialogue which commenced on October 1st over a virtual platform. The welcome statements were made by Mr. Saurabh Gaur, Joint Secretary, MeitY, Government of India and Mr. Stephen Anderson, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Communications and Information Policy, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

The discussions deliberated upon the importance of open cross-border data flows and forward-looking data, governance policies to the U.S. and Indian digital economy which was led by Mr. Vint Cerf, Chief Internet Evangelist, Google and an overview of how to drive the next level of investment into India by Mr. Virat Bhatia, Managing Director, Apple, which covered ease of doing business, how to increase investment in electronic manufacturing and bring regulatory reforms and the current trade, tariff, labor and infrastructure concerns. AMCHAM members Dell and IBM raised queries around harmonization of standards and ease of doing business in India.
