U.S.-India ICT Dialogue: B2G Interaction – 1st October 2019
Supporting the G2G dialogue, AMCHAM organized an interaction on October 1st at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in New Delhi. The interaction was addressed by Mr. Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Mr. Rob Strayer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, U.S. Department of State. It was followed by a welcome address and vision statement by Mr. Som Satsangi, Chairman – ICT Committee, AMCHAM and MD, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Ms. Debjani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM.
Participants deliberated across a range of issues over 3 thematic areas: a) India and U.S. in the IT sector: job creator and addressing the skills gap b) U.S.-India readiness and competitiveness to integrate with the global value chain c) Data: privacy, data flows, cloud policy, AI, digital economy, data strategy, regulatory issues with key AMCHAM speakers: Mr. Ambrish Bakaya, Co-Chairman – Infrastructure and Smart Cities Committee, AMCHAM (HPE), Mr. Tabrez Ahmad (Dell), Mr. Arijit Sen, Co-Chairman – Manufacturing Committee, AMCHAM (Flex Group), Mr. Harish Krishnan, Chairman – CSR Committee, AMCHAM (Cisco), Ms. Anubhuti Kaul Bhrany (HP), Mr. Naveen Tandon, Co-Chairman – ICT Committee, AMCHAM (AT&T), Mr. Chetan Krishnaswamy (Google), Mr. Ashutosh Chadha (Mastercard) and Mr. S. Chandrasekhar (Microsoft) over a panel discussion moderated by Amrit Singh Deo, Co-Chairman – Cyber Security Committee, AMCHAM and MD, FTI Consulting and Ms. Valsa Williams, Advisor, AMCHAM.
