The U.S. Consulate Chennai organized an Open House Meet for the AMCHAM’s Tamil Nadu Chapter members on June 23rd at the U.S. Consulate in Chennai. Mr. Chris Hodges, Consul General, U.S. Consulate General Chennai, warmly welcomed members and provided valuable insights into U.S.-India trade relations. He emphasized the consulate’s commitment to supporting U.S. companies in overcoming any challenges related to ease of doing business in India. Ms. Carey Arun, Principal Commercial Officer, U.S. Consulate General Chennai, elaborated on the role of the Commercial Services in assisting U.S. companies, including data support and other facilitative services. She highlighted the ongoing collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Chapter, particularly the periodic open house sessions held with the Guidance Bureau every two months to address issues concerning state and central government policies. She also encouraged members to reach out directly for any consular support. The session concluded with a detailed briefing by a Visa Officer on the revised processes for all categories of visa applications. The gathering ended on a high note with networking and high tea.
