On January 30th, AMCHAM organized a virtual session in the Thought Leadership Series on ‘Global Debt & Investment Climate: What Businesses Must Know About Future Risks’ bringing together senior industry representatives to examine evolving global debt dynamics and their implications for investment and business strategy. The session featured Dr. Viral V. Acharya, C.V. Starr Professor of Economics at NYU Stern School of Business and former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, who delivered an in-depth keynote on monetary policy, financial stability, and emerging global macroeconomic risks. Dr. Acharya highlighted key vulnerabilities arising from elevated public and private debt, the changing global interest rate environment, and the potential transmission of financial stress across markets, offering valuable perspectives for businesses operating in an uncertain global landscape.
