AMCHAM’s Hyderabad Chapter, in association with EY, organized a virtual session on IDT/SEZ policies for members on August 3rd. Ms. Aisha Hussaini, Partner, EY led the session and touched on the amendments and clarifications post the 47th GST Council meeting. She also touched on the current SEZ challenges, foreign exchange earnings, infrastructure, land utilization, multiple compliances and non-uniform procedures. Ms. Hussaini spoke about the new legislation to replace SEZ Act, 2005, the key issues like fungibility of operations – sharing of infrastructure between units in the hub, constitution of WFH provisions under DESH, as well as continuity of benefits extended in the FTP and authorized operations. She also spoke on the new WFH guidelines. The presentation was followed by Q&A with participants.
