AMCHAM’s Northern Region, with knowledge partner KPMG in India, organized a breakfast series session on ‘ESG: Climate Change and the Business Case for Sustainability’ on November 4th in New Delhi. Wg Cdr Rajiv Anand, Program Director, AMCHAM, welcomed participants and introduced the KPMG team to the gathering. Session speakers Mr. Naveen Aggarwal, Partner in Charge, U.S. – India Corridor North India Tax Head, KPMG in India, Mr. Shivananda Shetty, Partner, Practice Lead – ESG, KPMG in India along with Mr. Sandip Keswani and Mr. Saurabh Bhardwaj from the ESG team shared their expert insights on the topic. The discussion focussed on ESG becoming a mainstream topic for businesses and investors, the unparalleled opportunity to drive untapped value, net-zero strategies and integrating ESG considerations into business operations as well as funding mechanisms beyond the conventional sources. The session also generated discussion on issues like decarbonization as a global imperative and priority for businesses, risks and opportunities for businesses from climate change and innovative financing mechanisms for green capital. The session was a comprehensive contextual insight into ESG and connected business impact.
