The first meeting of the Northern Region Executive Committee was held virtually on October 14^th under the Chairmanship of Mr. Michael Fernandez, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM, Chairman – Northern Region, AMCHAM and India Country Head and South Asia Lead, Lockheed Martin and Mr. Vinod Sood, Co-Chairman – Northern Region, AMCHAM and Co-Founder & Managing Director, Hughes Systique Corporation. The following members attended the meeting: Mr C.P. Arvind, CFO, Aptiv India & ASEAN, Mr. Dhritiman Biswas, Director – Government Relations, South Asia, Cargill India, Ms. Sunanda Sehgal, HR Manager, Corning India, and Mr. Raju Kapoor, Director – Public & Industry Affairs, FMC India Pvt. Ltd. The committee discussed strategies for engaging with state government officials, emphasizing the importance of regular interactions and suggested compiling sector-specific issues and investment details to present to state governments. The need for face-to-face meetings with state officials for effective relationship building was highlighted. The group also discussed tariff challenges, proposing specific product exemptions to benefit U.S. companies. Senior level knowledge sharing workshops, improving regional infrastructure and showcasing CSR activities were proposed as potential initiatives to consider. The meeting concluded with a call for additional nominations for the NextGen Leadership Program.
