Meeting with Ms. Mehnaz Ansari, Sr. Regional Representative - South Asia Indo Pacific Region, U.S. Trade and Development Agency
Members of AMCHAM’s Energy Committee and Infrastructure and Smart Cities Committee met with Ms. Mehnaz Ansari, Sr. Regional Representative – South Asia Indo Pacific Region, U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) on October 18th at the Emerson office in Noida. The objective of the interaction was to discuss sectoral focus in energy, infrastructure and smart cities with regard to the role of USTDA in supporting U.S. companies in India, current priority projects where industry needs support and new and emerging opportunities for funding. Ms. Geeta Poduval, Director, AMCHAM welcomed Ms. Mehnaz Ansari and members to the meeting. Ms. Ansari made a detailed presentation on the mission of USTDA, the role it has been playing for promoting U.S. exports, developing overseas infrastructure, priority sectors and funding criteria. Since 1992, USTDA has supported more than 225 activities to support the development of energy, transportation, telecommunications, healthcare, and agribusiness infrastructure in India. Ms. Ansari also highlighted some of the projects that USTDA has supported the development of the energy sector in India. Members from Dastur Energy, Dell, Emerson, FTI Consulting, LanzaTech and Trimble participated in the meeting.
