On September 27th, AMCHAM met with Ms. Himani Pande, Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India to address pressing concerns affecting the ICT and electronic manufacturing sectors. The meeting, prompted by multiple impending deadlines impacting daily operations, focused on key issues including FTM meeting action items, extension of ComSec certification timelines, Import Management System challenges, taxation matters, proposed amendments to the Public Procurement Order (PPO), and clarification of the ‘manufacturer’ definition. Members articulated their concerns, receiving guidance from the AS on each matter. Following Minister Goyal’s U.S. visit, AMCHAM plans to organize follow-up meetings to advance these critical industry issues and ensure continued progress on resolving members’ concerns.
