Members of AMCHAM’s Infrastructure and Smart Cities Committee met Mr. Mahmood Ahmed, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India at his office on September 26^th to discuss various aspects of engagement with the Ministry. Mr. Ahmed was accompanied by a team of relevant officials from the Ministry. Ms. Geeta Poduval, Director, AMCHAM thanked Mr. Ahmed for meeting members of AMCHAM. Discussions were held around IRC accreditation, edge solutions focused on toll automation, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for large vehicles, AI in road safety, strengthening road safety legislation, leveraging the IT infrastructure, pilot projects for road safety, leveraging building information management (BIM) across roads and highways sector, need for centralized data on refrigerated transport vehicles across India and implementation of Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines (ADAG) across states. Representatives from 3M, Autodesk, Carrier, FTI Consulting, Honeywell, Intel, Microsoft and Uber joined the meeting.
