A meeting of Amcham’s Medical Devices Committee was held under the chairmanship of Mr. PrabalChakraborty, Chairman, Amcham Medical Devices Committee and MD, Boston Scientific India at the office of Zimmer India Pvt. Ltd., Gurgaon.
The meeting was organized to set the charter for the medical devices committee for the year 2015 and also to discuss the various developments that had taken place in the medical devices sector recently. It was discussed and decided to engage with different states wherein the industry can propose to the states to address some of the healthcare challenges. Another area in which the members showed interest was adoption of 6 new AIIMS by the committee. The members companies agreed to pool their resources and deliver skill development programmesunder the AmChamumbrella Task forces comprising of members were created which will come out with a framework of the macro things on what could be the things the industry would like to engage through Amcham in a month’s time.
The committee also deliberated on other issues such as “Make in India”, Update on Bangladesh Regulations, PHFI Report and the Show Cause notice from NPPA seeking pricing information from medical device companies.
