On June 1st, AMCHAM hosted an interaction with Ms. Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce in Bengaluru. Mr. Sanjay Koul, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM and President – India & South East Asia & MD – India, Timken India Limited, made opening remarks. Ms. Judith Ravin, Consul General, U.S. Consulate General Chennai introduced Under Secretary Lago. Mr. Jonathan Heimer, Honorary National Executive Board Member, AMCHAM and Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, U.S. Embassy moderated the discussion in which each member provided an overview on their current experiences and challenges doing business in India. The conversation touched upon various topics including economic opportunities in Karnataka and labor laws in India.
