GCCs Driving Impact Through Evolving CSR Regulations

A roundtable jointly hosted by AMCHAM’s Hyderabad Chapter and EY in Hyderabad on July 16th, brought together leaders from various global capability centers (GCCs) to explore the evolving landscape of corporate social responsibility (CSR) under the Companies Act. Mr. Jayesh Sanghvi, Partner, EY India, opened the session by emphasizing CSR’s strategic role in fostering stakeholder trust while meeting regulatory obligations. Mr. Aditya Bajoria, Partner, EY India and Ms. Tanya Gupta, Director, EY India, led a deep-dive discussion into the complexities of CSR, exploring the legal framework for eligible CSR expenditures and highlighting various practical aspects and examples of eligible CSR projects. They also addressed key regulatory considerations shaping CSR practices today. Mr. Amit Vatsyayan, Partner, EY India, along with Mr. Sidharth Dutta, Partner, EY India, provided comprehensive insights into the evolution of CSR, covering its significance, various models and emerging trends. They offered practical insights into the CSR lifecycle, showcasing how businesses are scaling impact and aligning initiatives with national priorities through effective government collaborations. This dialogue reflected how GCCs are not only complying with CSR mandates but actively contributing to India’s development journey.
