AMCHAM’s Energy Committee convened virtually on May 2^nd to discuss emerging opportunities in the energy sector and the way forward for enhancing U.S.-India partnership. Mr. Anil Bhatia, National Executive Board Member, AMCHAM, Chairman – Energy Committee, AMCHAM and Vice President & Managing Director – India, Emerson chaired the meeting. Deliberations were held on ‘India’s Energy Transition’ – a note prepared by Mr. Atanu Mukherjee, Co-Chairman – Eastern Region, AMCHAM and CEO, Dastur Energy. Members discussed how with the changing dynamics in terms of energy policies in the United States and India, opportunities for partnership are increasing focused on availability, affordability, reliability and lowering of emissions. Collaboration in areas of SMRs, renewables, hydrocarbons and decarbonization was discussed in detail. Representatives from Baker Hughes, BrightNight Power, Carrier, Copeland, FTI Consulting, GE Vernova, Honeywell, John Crane, Lanzatech and Smiths Group participated in the meeting.
