On January 27^th, AMCHAM hosted a dialogue with a U.S. House Armed Services Committee (HASC) delegation with Chairman Mike Rogers, Ranking Member Adam Smith, and Representative Jimmy Patronis in New Delhi. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM welcomed participants. Mr. Sandip Patel, Chairman, AMCHAM and General Manager, India/South Asia, IBM, Managing Director, IBM India, provided an overview of the U.S.-India partnership. Mr. Michael Fernandez, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM and Country Head India & GBD South Asia, Lockheed Martin India, shared an overview of the U.S.-India defense partnership. Mr. Salil Gupte, Immediate Past Chairman, AMCHAM and President, Boeing India & South Asia, moderated the interaction with members. American defense industry leadership in India highlighted their commitment to strengthening the American and Indian defense industrial bases. Members briefed the delegation on opportunities in the defense landscape, including emerging technologies. Mr. Samit Ray, Co-Chairman – Defense Committee, AMCHAM and Deputy Vice President, Government Affairs, Raytheon Technologies gave the concluding remarks. Mr. Gaurav Mehndiratta, Co-Chairman – Defense Committee, AMCHAM and Partner and National Head, Corporate and International Tax, KPMG in India participated.
