AMCHAM Defense Committee members met with Senator Ben Cardin (the Democratic Senator from Maryland) and his team members and apprised him of overall business environment for U.S. defense companies in India and the current challenges they encounter. The Senator was also brought up to date on the suggested reforms that would be conducive for the companies to operate in India. The Senator was also informed of the projects that were being signed. The Senator asked companies views on the better route for procurement Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) or Foreign Military Sales (FMS). Ambassador Richard Verma also joined AMCHAM members for this discussion and shared his views.
