The Regulatory Affairs Sub-Group of AMCHAM’s Agriculture & Food Processing Committee convened a meeting on February 19^th virtually to finalize the road map for 2025. It was chaired by Dr. Jasvir Singh, Director, Head AMETI – Regulatory Affairs, IFF. Members discussed the charter of the sub-group that included areas like risk assessment, trainings, sharing global best practices, government linkages, capacity building, industry challenges and opportunities. It was decided to bifurcate themes into strategic and transactional. The session delved into key issues impacting trade, particularly about regulations that are affecting sectors like dairy products and microbial solutions. Key highlights included the proposal to establish specialized task forces aimed at collaborating with health ministries and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to address these regulatory barriers and find effective solutions. Members were asked to submit inputs on specific issues.
