Recommendations on Draft Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Tamil Nadu) Rules, 2022

AMCHAM submitted suggestions to the Government of Tamil Nadu on the Draft OSH and Working Conditions (Tamil Nadu) Rules, 2022. The recommendations cover clear definition of designated and licensing authorities with alignment to the central rules, dual eligibility criteria for free annual health examinations, flexibility in working hours through a self-assessment route including 4/5/6-day work weeks and a revised overtime ceiling, rationalization of contract labour compliance, and a clear mechanism and timelines for exemptions under sections 58, 127 and 128.
