The Tamil Nadu IT & Digital Services Department, in collaboration with AMCHAM’s Tamil Nadu Chapter, organized a roundtable discussion on the Tamil Nadu Deep Tech Policy on December 13th at the iTNT Hub, Anna University Campus, Chennai. The meeting brought together CXOs from U.S. IT companies to provide valuable insights for shaping the policy. Key government officials in attendance included Mr. Kumar Jayant, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of IT & Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu, Ms. Vanitha Venugopal, Chief Executive Officer, Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (iTNT), Department of IT & Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu and Ms. Carey Arun, Principal Commercial Officer, U.S. Consulate General Chennai. This session was part of a series of consultations, with the first roundtable engaging companies in Tamil Nadu. This meeting focused on U.S. companies and sought feedback from their R&D departments for additional insights. Participants were informed that a final version of the policy would be shared before its release in March 2025. This collaborative effort underscores Tamil Nadu’s commitment to fostering innovation and positioning the state as a global hub for deep tech development.
