The first Agriculture & Food Processing Committee meeting for the year 2024-2025 was organized under the leadership of Mr. Simon George, Chairman – Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, AMCHAM and President, Cargill India and Mr. Subroto Geed, Co-Chairman – Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, AMCHAM and President, South Asia, Corteva Agriscience on October 17^th at the Corteva office in Gurugram. Mr. Garth Thorburn, Minister Counselor for Agricultural Affairs, U.S. Embassy, Ms. Karen F. Richards, Senior Agricultural Attache, U.S. Embassy, Ms. Joanna Brown, Agricultural Attache, U.S. Embassy and Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, Senior Agricultural Specialist, U.S. Embassy joined the meeting. To set the agenda for the coming year, members discussed and deliberated on various themes and issues. Some of the main themes that surfaced during the discussion included continuing work around sustainability, setting up a sub group for regulatory matters, promoting women in agriculture, promoting two way agricultural and food trade, AgriTech as means to uplift the food ecosystem, overall promotion of the food processing sector and adoption of climate smart agricultural practices.
