The U.S.-India Fast Track Mechanism meeting was held on August 24^th under the chairpersonship of Ms. Himani Pande, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. In the agenda, amongst other items, were challenges raised by AMCHAM members Apple India, Cargill India and Dell Technologies, in which representatives from each company presented their concerns. Discussion on the item related to plastic packaging by producers, importers and brand-owners (PIBOs) on Centralized Extended Producer Responsibility Portal for Plastic Packaging for Determination of EPR Targets as raised by Apple, have attributed to the issue now being resolved. Government orders towards this have been issued. AMCHAM was represented by Wg Cdr Rajiv Anand, Senior Director and Ms. Swati Samaddar, Director.
