A pre-session of the U.S.-India ICT Dialogue was conducted with Mr. Saurabh Gaur, Joint Secretary, MeitY, on September 10th aimed to align industry, the ministry and AMCHAM before the interaction. The meeting was attended by organizations such as Dell, Hewlett Packard and Hewlett Packard Enterprises. While industry raised some concerns with regard to electronics manufacturing industry in India, Mr. Gaur highlighted points that U.S. industry can adopt for a mutually beneficial business relationship. Mr. Gaur and his team were extremely supportive and answered industry concerns with patience and empathy. The fourth phase of Electronics & IT goods Requirement of Compulsory (Registration) Order, 2012 (CRO Phase IV) which was notified on April 1st, 2020 and was scheduled to come into effect from October 1st, 2020, has now been extended by six months within 24 hours of the session.
