AMCHAM met with Lieutenant General Charles Hooper, Director, Defense Security Cooperation Agency and his team on 2nd February 2018 at ACSA, U.S. Embassy for a breakfast interaction. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM and Mr. Pratyush Kumar, Chairman, AMCHAM and President, Boeing India welcomed Lieutenant General Charles Hooper. The opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Phil Shaw, Chairman – Defense Committee and NEB Member, AMCHAM and Chief Executive, Lockheed Martin India. Mr. Shaw focused on U.S.-India defense sector and it’s growing relationship.

Lieutenant General Charles Hooper expressed his enthusiasm for visiting India. He explained his vision for the Defense Security Cooperation Agency: building relationships, providing transparency, being responsive, and efficiency and effectiveness of work being done. He spoke about his experiences while working in Southeast Asia. Thereafter, he invited participants for a Q&A session. AMCHAM members briefed him of the issues faced by the industry and their experiences working in India.

Mr. Michael Koch, Co-Chairman – Defense Committee AMCHAM and Vice President – South Asia, International Business Development, Boeing, thanked Lieutenant General Hooper and gave the closing remarks.
