U.S. Industry Roundtable and Networking Reception with U.S. Government Officials at Aero India 2023– 12 February 2023
On February 12th, AMCHAM’s aerospace and defense industry leaders met with the visiting U.S. government leaders ahead of Aero India 2023 in Bengaluru. The delegation comprised of Ambassador Elizabeth Jones, Charge d ’Affairs, U.S. Embassy, Mr. Jedidiah (Jed) P. Royal, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (PDASD) for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs, U.S. Department of Defense, Ms. Sandra Long, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Defense Exports and Cooperation, U.S. Department of Defense, Mr. Mike Miller, Deputy Director, Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), U.S. Department of Defense, Major General Julian C. Cheater, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs, U.S. Department of the Air Force, Brigadier General Joel W. Safranek, Director, Air Force Security Assistance and Cooperation Directorate (AFSAC), U.S. Department of the Air Force, Ms. Karla Horn, Executive Director, Navy International Programs Office (NIPO), RDML Baker, Senior Defense Official, U.S. Embassy, Ms. Judith Ravin, Consul General, U.S. Consulate General Chennai and other senior officials from the U.S. government. The closed door roundtable offered members a unique opportunity of seeking government support about issues and concerns effecting industry. Senior leadership from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, BAE, Raytheon, GE, Honeywell, Northrop Grumman and others participated. This was immediately followed by an excellent informal networking platform with policy makers and other stakeholders where Ms. Ashmita Sethi, Chairperson – Aviation Committee, AMCHAM and Country Head, Pratt & Whitney welcomed participants and introduced Consul General Judith Ravin who addressed participants and welcomed them to Aero India 2023.
