Progress Review: Position Paper and Stakeholder Engagement Matrix for Advocacy in Energy Efficiency and Clean Energy – 20th April 2020
On April 20th, a small group within AMCHAM’s Energy Committee, consisting of members from Johnson Controls, Trane (Ingersoll Rand Climate Solutions) and Honeywell UOP met to review the progress of a position paper and stakeholder engagement plan to advocate the use of a leading refrigerant technology in the area of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC). While many good points were raised, it was felt that that the government was not giving this area enough consideration, therefore key stakeholders for advocacy were seen to be the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF), Ministry of Power (MoP) and the Ministry of Urban and Housing Affairs (MOUHA). It was agreed that the proposition should be strengthened with international and Indian examples which showcase the benefits to global warming potential and gains in energy efficiency besides a commercial (ROI) case study over the product/equipment lifecycle. Since this is work in progress, the group planned to meet again in two weeks with inputs from members to fine tune the proposition.
