AMCHAM’s Pharma Working Group held a virtual meeting on May 5th under the leadership of Ms. Aileen Nandi, Honorary USG Chairperson – Healthcare Committee, AMHCAM and Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, U.S. Embassy, Mr. Sarthak Ranade, Chairman – Pharma Working Group, AMCHAM and Managing Director, Janssen India and Ms. Jyotsna Ghoshal, Co-Chairperson – Pharma Working Group, AMCHAM and Senior Director – Corporate Affairs, MSD Pharmaceuticals. During the meeting members interacted with Ms. Aileen Nandi and with Mr. John Cabeca, U.S. Intellectual Property (IP) Attaché for South Asia, on updates on COVID-19, current situation and IPR issues. Mr. Cabeca expressed his thoughts on IPR in India and his goals and requested members to discuss specific IP issues the experienced as well as any suggestions on how best USPTO could assist them on the ground in India. The meeting concluded with closing remarks by the Co-Chair who thanked members for their valuable inputs.
