A meeting of AMCHAM’s Manufacturing Committee was held on August 19th in New Delhi under the leadership of Mr. Amit Bansal, Co-Chairman – Manufacturing Committee, AMCHAM and Managing Director, Corning India and Mr. Arijit Sen, Co-Chairman – Manufacturing Committee, AMCHAM and Senior Director, Global Government Affairs and Public Policy, Flex Group. The committee discussed manufacturing in India for global markets, production-based incentives, manufacturing in ASEAN countries, corporate taxation, capacity utilization, MSIPs, inverted duty structure in the automotive sector, among other topics.

The committee decided to organize an event focused on electronics manufacturing next month. The differentiated advantage that India could have over other countries, ease of doing business and the benefits U.S. companies bring to India when they invest, were also discussed. A core group of electronics manufacturing companies was formed to carry the momentum forward.
