AMCHAM’s Cyber Security Committee organized an interactive session with Mr. Narendra Nath Gangavarapu, Joint Secretary, National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), PMO, Government of India on September 9th. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM, welcomed participants and asserted that the public-private partnerships in cyber security strategy were critically important in creating a cyber-resilient nation. In his opening remarks, Mr. Bikram Bedi, Chairman – Cyber Security Committee, AMCHAM and Managing Director, Google Cloud, cited that in the year 2021, 30% of financial transactions were digital, which created a bigger challenge for financial institutions to secure digital transactions. Mr. Narendra Nath Gangavarapu stated that colossal opportunities for industry were in capacity building and sharing best practices in critical infrastructure security. He also included the initiatives and activities being undertaken from the government side in this segment. Other important points covered included critical infrastructure security, trusted supply chain framework, cyber security architecture, counter ransomware initiative, National Reference Architecture, etc.
