On 7th April, AMCHAM members interacted virtually with Ms. Thea D. Rozman Kendler, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. Department of Commerce. Ms. Kendler leads Export Administration in controlling the export of dual-use and military items for national security and foreign policy reasons, analyzing the impact of export controls, and supporting the U.S. defense industrial base. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM welcomed participants. Mr. Salil Gupte, Chairman, AMCHAM and President, Boeing India, set the scene in his opening remarks. Ms. Kendler shared her views on the nature and scope of BIS’s activities and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and offered to extend all guidance to member queries on the subject. Mr. Sanjay Koul, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM and Chairman & Managing Director, Timken India Limited, gave the vote of thanks.
