Members of AmCham’s ICT Committee met with Ms. Angela Simpson, Deputy Assistant Secretary, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, on 26th September, 2016, in New Delhi, to brief her on the main issues/developments in the telecom and IT sectors.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Amit Sharma, Chairman, AmCham’s ICT Committee and Executive Vice President and President Asia, ATC India. An update on the telecom issues was provided by Mr. Naveen Tandon, Co-Chairman, AmCham’s ICT Committee and Director – IEA, AT&T Communication Services India Private Limited, and an update on IT issues was provided by Mr. Vivek Vasishtha, Co-Chairman, AmCham’s ICT Committee and Country Leader – Government and Regulatory Affairs, IBM India Pvt. Ltd.

Ms. Angela Simpson was in India to participate in the U.S.-India ICT Dialogue. She informed members about some of the main issues that she was focusing on which included internet policy, IT, broadband, cross border data flow, encryption and security, internet of things, cyber security, etc.
