The HR Committee meeting took place on July 24th in Gurugram. The meeting commenced with a welcome and introduction of the new Chairperson and Co-Chairpersons by Ms. Tanya Paul, Communication Director, AMCHAM. The opening remarks were delivered by Ms. Smriti Ahuja, Chairperson – HR Committee, AMCHAM and Global Head Organization Effectiveness, Cognizant. She introduced Mr. Chaitanya Sreenivas, Vice President and HR Head, IBM India and South Asia. He gave a presentation and conducted an hour long session on ‘Artificial Intelligence in HR.’

He spoke about how to leverage the lifecycle of an employee by using technology and how using technology has proven to give massive returns in terms of finding appropriate skilled employees. His presentation detailed the steps IBM took to make use of AI effectively and efficiently in terms of human resource and finding talent. Committee members had a discussion and suggested focus areas for a work plan for 2019-20. Closing remarks were given by Ms. Rachna R. Kumar, Co-Chairperson – HR Committee, AMCHAM and Vice President Human Resources, Whirlpool India.
