AMCHAM’s Agriculture & Food Processing Committee organized a hybrid committee meeting on December 6th at Cargill’s office in Gurugram under the leadership of Mr. Prashant Peres, Chairman – Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, AMCHAM and Managing Director – South Asia, Kellogg’s and Mr. Raju Kapoor, Co-Chairman – Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, AMCHAM and Director – Public & Industry Affairs, FMC India Pvt. Ltd. The committee took stock of the progress of the report on ‘Making India the Global Food Hub’ and agreed to share their specific inputs. It was decided to launch the report in the next policy roundtable in the second half of January 2024. Ms. Komple Sharma, Director, AMCHAM India presented the scope of a new committee on environment and sustainability and asked for suggestions and interest to join this committee. The proposed Western Region signature event which would have a focused session on agriculture and food processing was also deliberated upon. The committee discussed the scope and usefulness of mounting a business delegation to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the chair.
