Under the leadership of Mr. Ajay Vij, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM, Chairman – Skill Development Committee, AMCHAM and Senior Country Managing Director, Accenture in India, the inaugural Skill Development Committee meeting was organized virtually on October 23rd. The meeting established a focused, outcome-driven agenda to leverage member companies’ expertise in advancing India’s skilling ecosystem, with an emphasis on employment, livelihoods, and measurable impact. Three task forces were constituted to map member capabilities and collective impact, develop a veteran and armed forces career transition program as the first flagship initiative, and examine future-of-work trends and skills-to-jobs pathways. The committee also identified opportunities to showcase member-led initiatives, strengthen government engagement, explore niche skilling interventions, and establish annual recognition awards and a global skills dialogue. Members agreed to prioritize practical, scalable models that demonstrate AMCHAM’s distinctive contribution to India’s workforce development agenda.
