Roundtable with Mr. John Coronado, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, U.S. Embassy
AMCHAM organized a closed-door roundtable with Mr. John Coronado, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, U.S. Embassy on September 16th in New Delhi. Ms. Valerie Swope, Program Coordinator, AMCHAM, welcomed participants and introduced the new Minister Counselor as an Honorary National Executive Board member of AMCHAM. Mr. Salil Gupte, Chairman, AMCHAM and President, Boeing India & South Asia, set the tone for the meeting. Members shared sector-wise market access challenges and updates on ease of doing business for U.S. companies operating in India across the following sectors: agriculture and food processing, BFSI, civil aviation, cyber security, ICT, infrastructure, manufacturing, MedTech, pharmaceuticals, supply chain and logistics, and taxation. Wg Cdr Rajiv Anand, Senior Director, AMCHAM, gave concluding remarks and reiterated AMCHAM’s commitment to strengthening the bilateral economic partnership together.
Mr. Naveen Tandon, Chairman – Electronics Manufacturing Committee, AMCHAM and Head Policy & Strategy, Apple and Mr. Rohinton Sidhwa, Chairman – Taxation, Tariff and Regulatory Affairs Committee, AMCHAM and Partner, and National Corporate & Income Tax Leader, Deloitte, participated in the session along with representatives from 22 member companies. U.S. government participants included: Ms. Kimery Lynch McCormick, Semiconductor Industry Analyst, Office of Information and Communication Technologies, ITA, U.S. Department of Commerce, Ms. Syeda Borchmeyer, Digital Attaché, U.S. Embassy, Ms. Nikika Aggarwal, Senior Commercial Specialist, U.S. Embassy, Mr. Suhail Ahmed, Commercial Specialist, U.S. Embassy, and Mr. Navin Vazirani, Commercial Specialist, U.S. Consulate General Mumbai.
