A meeting was held on June 28th with the Ministry of Finance held under the Chairpersonship of Chairman CBDT, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India to discuss suggestions/recommendations in respect to tax issues pertaining to different sectors made by AMCHAM. Discussions from AMCHAM were led by Ms. Garima Pande, Chairperson – Taxation, Tariff and Regulatory Affairs Committee, AMCHAM and Partner & National Leader Global Compliance & Reporting, Ernst & Young. Wg Cdr Rajiv Anand represented the Secretariat. Amongst issues discussed were suggestions made to the government on personal income tax, corporate tax – assessment and appeals, withholding tax, transfer pricing and international tax, as well as various issues concerning customs.
