National Executive Board Meeting – 09 February 2021
The third meeting of AMCHAM’s National Executive Board for 2020-2021 was held on February 9th virtually. Mr. Salil Anil Gupte, Chairman, AMCHAM and President, Boeing India chaired the meeting. Honorary President of AMCHAM, Chargés D’Affaires Donald Heflin, U.S. Embassy, addressed board members highlighting the positive milestones in the U.S.-India partnership, Aero India and bilateral cooperation across various sectors, among other topics. Honorary National Executive Board members from the U.S. Embassy, Ms. Aileen Nandi, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs and Mr. Tom Carnegie, Minister Counselor Economic Affairs (Acting), updated members on recent government to government interactions and strides in the U.S.-India partnership. Mr. Naveen Aggarwal, Chairman – Tax, Tariff & Regulatory Affairs Committee, AMCHAM and Partner, International Tax and Partner in Charge U.S. Corridor, KPMG in India, Ms. Neeru Ahuja, Co-Chairperson – Tax, Tariff & Regulatory Affairs Committee, AMCHAM and Partner – Global Business Tax, Deloitte Haskins & Sells, Mr. Manish Aggarwal, Partner and Head, Energy & Infrastructure M&A, Special Situations Group, KPMG in India and Mr. Sanjay Doshi, Partner and Head, Financial Services Advisory, KPMG in India, provided a briefing on ‘Budget 2021-22: Implications for U.S. Companies in India.’ Members were given an update on U.S.-India relations under the new administration and interacted with Mr. Richard Rossow, Senior Adviser and Wadhwani Chair in U.S.-India Policy Studies, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Senior Director – India & South Asia, McLarty Associates.
