A few members of AMCHAM’s ICT Committee led by its Chairman, Mr. Amit Sharma, Executive Vice President and President Asia, ATC India and Co-Chairman, Mr. Naveen Tandon, Director – IEA, AT&T Communication Services India Private Limited, called on Mr. R.S. Sharma, Chairman, TRAI, on 4th July 2017. Members discussed issues related to VNO. These licenses did not differentiate between B2B and B2C licenses and led to double taxation. Mr. Sharma agreed that this was a genuine problem of double taxation. Mr. Naveen Tandon would be sending a note to Mr. Sharma on multi-parenting. Members appreciated that TRAI had adopted a number of positive measures in the last few months. Members were hoping that the M2M policy will be announced soon and the cloud consultation paper, for which chambers had sent their views, would also be finalized soon.
