AMCHAM’s Agriculture & Food Processing Committee members under the leadership of Mr. Ravinder Balain, Co-Chairman – Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, AMCHAM and Country President, Cargill India, and Managing Director, Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health, South Asia, met with Mr. Darpan Jain, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India on September 22^nd in New Delhi. Members discussed their operations, investment plans, challenges, and opportunities across the value chain. Prominent points included: potential in the dairy sector, need for robust food security along with ensuring nutrition and protein security, decreasing yields, interventions needed in the animal feed sector, consumer food patterns, level playing field challenges, precision agriculture, regulatory data protection, sustainability and global capability centers (GCCs). The committee presented its in-house compendium ‘Leading the Next Harvest: Women in Agriculture & Food Systems,’ showcasing impactful initiatives that are advancing women’s participation across India’s agricultural and food systems. Mr. Jain appreciated the initiatives undertaken by members and encouraged them to project these cases.
