AMCHAM’s Infrastructure and Smart Cities Committee members met with Mr. Anurag Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India on September 18^th at his office in New Delhi. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO thanked the Secretary for meeting to discuss the final draft of the Motor Vehicles Aggregator Guidelines 2024, new and emerging U.S. technologies for the development and maintenance of national highways, other centrally-sponsored road work and enhancing road safety through technological interventions. Mr. Anurag Jain highlighted various new initiatives of the Government of India to enhance infrastructure and connectivity in India for Viksit Bharat, including, technological interventions in the roads and highways sector, integration of PM Gatishakti projects, ongoing and emerging highways and high-speed corridors, sustainable road infrastructure and road safety initiatives. He also agreed to positively consider various suggestions made by AMCHAM. Members from FTI Consulting, Hewlett Packard Enterprise,  Honeywell, Kyndryl, Qualcomm, Uber and Ms. Geeta Poduval, Director, AMCHAM attended the meeting.
