AMCHAM members from the semiconductor sector met Mr. Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India and CEO, India Semiconductor Mission, for a constructive discussion on advancing India’s role in the global semiconductor value chain. The dialogue focused on key priorities including positioning India as a trusted partner in the evolving global semiconductor ecosystem, co-developing and establishing advanced R&D and design centers, and strengthening critical supply chain capabilities such as process engineering, specialty chemicals, critical minerals, advanced packaging, and testing. Outlining Semicon 2.0 as a full-ecosystem program, Mr. Sinha proposed a COE-led incubation model, discussed price benchmarking, integrating AI into chip design training and invited CEOs from AMCHAM membership to participate in the integrated semicon electronics manufacturing event. AMCHAM expressed its appreciation for the thoughtful engagement extended and reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with the Government of India in furtherance of the broader U.S.-India commercial partnership. Representatives from 8 member companies participated.
