The manufacturing sector is vital for India’s economic progress. The government has prioritized this sector and taken a number of proactive steps for the growth of industry. U.S. companies have been manufacturing for decades in India across various sectors such as automotive, chemicals, heavy machinery, pharmaceuticals, etc. However, significant challenges remain for companies manufacturing in India such as labour laws, different tax structures in different states and complications in supply chains, among others, that the committee raises with appropriate officials.
