AMCHAM India expressed industry concerns to Ms. Asha Nangia, Scientist G, Industrial Promotion, Electronics & Hardware Manufacturing Division, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), Government of India, about the drastic increase in BIS certification time, resulting in delays with no clear Turn Around Time (TAT). The issue caused uncleared applications, which resulted in changes in launch dates of products in the ICT sector, logistical challenges, and unpredictability that businesses are having a tough time grappling with.
