Energy Committee Meeting with U.S. Embassy Officials

AMCHAM’s Energy Committee held a virtual meeting with U.S. Embassy officials to discuss the business climate on July 2nd. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM welcomed participants and Ms. Geeta Poduval, Director, AMCHAM moderated the discussion. The U.S. Embassy was represented by Ms. Anastasia Mukherjee, Commercial Attaché, Mr. Ian Cumberland, Energy Officer and Mr. Sikander Shah, Economic Specialist. The discussion revolved around investment and financing climate for U.S. energy companies in India and access to government programs such as PLI scheme and climate financing. The meeting also deliberated upon challenges to expanding the footprint of companies and the level of competitiveness when compared to players from other countries with regard to the renewable supply chain, decarbonization via CCUS, sustainable fuels, bio fuels and energy efficiency. Representatives from Baker Hughes, Carrier, Dastur Energy, Emerson, FTI Consulting, Honeywell, Lanza Tech and Rockwell Automation attended the meeting.
