Energy Committee

Energy has been universally recognized as one of the most important inputs for economic growth and human development. India is in the midst of a profound transformation that is moving the country to center stage in many areas of global interaction. India’s energy sector has grown tremendously in recent years. Further economic and population growth, allied to structural trends such as urbanization and the nature of the envisioned industrialization, point unmistakeably to a trend of continued rapid expansion in demand for energy. In this scenario the energy committee has a vital role to facilitate U.S. – India collaboration across the energy sector. This sector has strong potential for new growth and investment that could contribute to the economic prosperity of both countries.
