Defense Committee Meeting

AMCHAM’s Defense Committee held a meeting on December 10th in New Delhi under the leadership of Mr. Alay Parikh, Chairman – Defense Committee, AMCHAM and Vice President, International Business Development, Boeing International Corporation India and Mr. Samit Ray, Co-Chairman – Defense Committee, AMCHAM and Deputy Vice President, Government Relations and Public Policy, Raytheon Technologies. Mr. Michael Fernandez, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM and India Country Head and South Asia Lead, Lockheed Martin, Capt Jeremy Crestetto, Chief, U.S. Military Group India, U.S. Embassy, Mr. Nilesh Christian, Deputy Chief, U.S. Military Group India, U.S. Embassy, Mr. Karunesh Khanna, Director, Airforce & Cyber Capabilities Development, U.S. Military Group India, U.S. Embassy, Lt Col Aaron Doyle, Director of Airforce Capability Development, U.S. Military Group India, U.S. Embassy, Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM, Wg Cdr Rajiv Anand, Senior Director, AMCHAM and representatives of Raytheon Technologies, 3M India and KPMG India joined the meeting. Capt Crestetto briefed members on the recently agreed U.S.-India 10 year defense framework. Mr. Fernandez highlighted features of the recently set up MRO in Bengaluru for C-130 Aircraft, its capabilities and expected operational timelines. The meeting prioritized the need for discussing avenues and topics for engaging with thought leaders and government functionaries on AI and cyber security in defense. In this regard, AMCHAM will consult and seek advice from Mr. Karunesh Khanna, Director, Airforce & Cyber Capabilities Development, U.S. Military Group India, U.S. Embassy. Issues connected with RDPA, status of foreign wholly owned defense companies in India, IDDM and constraints connected therewith, and the requirement of identifying POCs at the Department of War and Ministry of Defence for effective implementation of the U.S.-India 10 year defense framework were discussed.
