AMCHAM’s Eastern Region organized a virtual interactive session on the Union Budget 2023-24 on February 2nd. Ms. Amada Kidwai, Regional Director – Eastern Region, AMCHAM introduced the speakers. Mr. Atanu Mukherjee, Chairman – Eastern Region, AMCHAM gave the welcome remarks and set the tone for discussions. Mr. Kaushik Mukherjee, Regional Managing Partner – East, PricewaterhouseCoopers gave the overview of the budget which focused on core areas and balancing growth and development. He said it’s an inclusive cum progressive budget. Mr. Kapil Basu, Executive Director Tax & Regulatory Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers Private Limited spoke on various direct tax proposals. Mr. Gopal Agarwal covered the indirect proposal. There was a lively Q&A segment and 110 participants logged in. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from AMCHAM.
