AMCHAM organized ‘Budget Connect’ in association with Ernst & Young at the Westin on February 2nd, 2018. There was a presentation on two major points: direct tax proposals which included individual tax proposals, changes and benefits; measures to stimulate growth – promotion of start-ups, levy of distribution tax, long term capital gain etc.; proposals to generate revenues which touched on commodity transaction taxation, digital economy taxation etc. and rationalization measures. Indirect tax proposals which included incentivizing ‘Make in India,’ power to conduct audit and dispute resolution measures.
